What should I keep in mind before my first ride?

Before your first ride, make sure the INTELLECTRIC cargo bike is fully charged and check it for visible damage and the proper functioning of all safety-related components. We also recommend familiarizing yourself in advance with the controls, assistance levels, and handling of the Heavy Duty Pedelec.

How does the handling differ from that of a traditional bicycle or e-bike?

The INTELLECTRIC cargo bike was designed for heavy loads and professional transport tasks. Thanks to its four wheels and robust vehicle architecture, the bike offers exceptionally stable handling, but it responds differently than a traditional bicycle or e-bike. Braking distance, cornering, and acceleration should therefore always be adjusted to the load and riding conditions.

Can the INTELLECTRIC cargo bike be used on public roads?

Use on public roads is subject to applicable national laws and the vehicle’s configuration. Operators and users are responsible for ensuring that the vehicle is used in accordance with applicable regulations.

How do I properly utilize the maximum payload?

The maximum payload of the INTELLECTRIC cargo bike must not be exceeded. For optimal riding stability, the load should be distributed evenly and positioned as centrally and as close to the ground as possible. Heavy items must be securely fastened to prevent them from shifting, in order to ensure stable steering and braking performance.

What should be checked regularly during daily operation?

Before daily use, we recommend checking the battery status, brakes, tires, lights, and any visible damage. Any abnormalities or technical issues should be inspected and resolved before continuing to use the vehicle.

The vehicle won’t start. What can I do?

STOP – Do not continue using the vehicle.

First, check whether the battery is sufficiently charged and properly installed. Also check all visible connectors and cables. If the INTELLECTRIC cargo bike still won’t turn on, please contact an authorized service partner.

The electric assist is weaker than usual.

You can continue riding as long as no warning message appears on the display or controller.

Reduced assist may be caused by a low battery level, a heavy load, or steep inclines. If performance remains limited or deteriorates significantly, we recommend having the bike inspected by a service technician.

Unusual noises or vibrations occur while driving.

STOP – Stop driving immediately.

Please check for any visible damage or loose components. Do not use the vehicle again until it has been inspected by a service partner.

Can I perform repairs or adjustments myself?

Visual inspections are permitted – technical work must be performed only by qualified personnel.

Simple visual inspections can be performed by the user. Work on the brakes, electrical system, battery, or the INTELLECTRIC drive system (iSHS) must be performed exclusively by qualified personnel or authorized service partners.

When should I contact Customer Service?

Safety always comes first.

Contact our Customer Service team if you receive warning messages, experience recurring malfunctions, notice unusual driving behavior, or have any technical concerns. Having your vehicle inspected early on can help prevent major damage and downtime.

How can I secure the DDG cargo bike?

The INTELLECTRIC drive system is only activated after entering a personal password – this protects the pedelec from unauthorized use.

What does the open mounting system mean?

The INTELLECTRIC cargo bike features integrated mounting rails in the frame and cargo area floor. This allows for the flexible installation of various attachments, mounts, and transport solutions.
The vehicle can be customized for various industries and applications – from tool modules to weather protection or passenger transport solutions.

How can I protect my cargo from weather conditions?

Various DDG accessory solutions are available for the INTELLECTRIC cargo bike to protect cargo and the loading area. These include robust cover tarps with elastic perimeter cords, high tarp structures with weather protection functionality, and lockable body configurations for sensitive or valuable goods.

Thanks to the modular hammer nut rail system, the accessory solutions can be flexibly adapted to different transport applications. This ensures that tools, goods, deliveries, and personal belongings remain reliably protected from rain, dirt, weather conditions, and unwanted access.

Which transport systems fit in the cargo area?

The cargo area has room for all standard transport boxes and transport systems. The compact INTELLECTRIC Cargobike L can hold six Euro crates (60x40x32 cm), while the larger Cargobike XL can hold as many as eight.

How can cargo be secured in the cargo area?

The large cargo area offers plenty of storage space. To ensure everything is transported safely, a wide variety of threaded adapters with hammer-type locking nuts can be screwed onto the upper rail, on all sides, and on the floor unit and customized to fit. Whether it’s a tension strap, cable tie, or similar – everything stays in place.
