iGEN – Generator

The INTELLECTRIC iGEN generator is the heart of the INTELLECTRIC drive system (iSHS). Instead of a traditional mechanical power transmission using a chain or gearbox, the pedal generator converts the rider’s pedaling motion directly into electrical energy. This results in a particularly low-maintenance, efficient, and controlled riding experience—specifically developed for professional heavy-duty applications.

The robust generator technology is based on industrial drive expertise and was designed for high continuous loads and intensive daily use.

Series hybrid technology for maximum efficiency

In the series hybrid drive system (iSHS), the INTELLECTRIC iGEN generator handles direct energy generation for the entire vehicle. The rider’s pedaling motion is converted into electrical energy and directly powers the wheel hub motors as well as other electronic vehicle components. By eliminating traditional drivetrain components such as chains, derailleurs, sprockets, or mechanical transmissions, wear is significantly reduced, and the system operates with minimal maintenance and high reliability.

At the same time, the pedal generator ensures smooth, intuitive power delivery—regardless of payload or application. The series hybrid concept really comes into its own in stop-and-go urban traffic, during frequent starts, or when carrying heavy loads. The result is an efficient, controlled, and comfortable driving experience with high reliability in continuous professional use.
